This report documents seven consecutive summer days spent in the Strellc highlands, offering an authentic portrayal of alpine life, untouched nature, and the deep-rooted hospitality of the local community.

Each return to Strellc feels like a first encounter. The silence of the mountains, the rhythm of daily life, and the generosity of the people create an experience that goes beyond travel—it becomes a quiet form of cultural immersion.

Life in the Strellc mountain pastures follows a seasonal cycle shaped by tradition. During the summer months, only families from the village of Strellc move to the highlands, continuing a centuries-old way of life based on livestock, nature, and community cooperation.

The report highlights everyday realities of alpine life, including the daily routines of shepherds, traditional food preparation, and the strong, unbroken relationship between people and land.

Despite modern pressures and visible changes, these mountain pastures remain a living archive of intangible cultural heritage, preserved through practice rather than narration.
