This story is not just about a wildfire. It is the story of a community that stood together as one: the mountaineers who raised the alarm, the municipality that organized the response, the firefighters who faced the difficult terrain, and the mountaineer who walked into the flames to protect the mountain.
A single lightning strike ignited the fire, but it was an entire community that stopped it.
Because a forest is not saved by water alone. It is also saved by people who refuse to walk past without stopping to help.
Our deepest gratitude and blessings go to everyone who, with courage, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility, became part of the effort to save this mountainside of centuries-old pine trees in Gurica, in the Strellc Highlands.
